Article: “The Historic Lahore Murder - March 19, 1940”

On March 19, 1940, a number of Khaksars were brutally murdered by police in Lahore. Following this massacre, Allama Mashriqi, founder of the Khaksar Movement, was arrested and sent to prison. He remained in Vellore Jail (British India) for a long time without a court trial. The above article authored by Nasim Yousaf narrates the brutal killing, and is now available on a web site dedicated to the respected Allama Mashriqi.

Interview on Allama Mashriqi and the Khaksar Tehrik by a Veteran Khaksar:

Khaksar Raja Sher Zaman was part of the Khaksar Movement (Khaksar Tehrik), founded by Allama Mashriqi. Through continued resistance, the said Tehrik succeeded in ending the British rule in India. Sher Zaman was among the prominent leaders of the Tehrik, and provided unparalleled sacrifices for the freedom of British India; he was arrested many times in support of the cause. Sher Zaman has written books on Allama Mashriqi and the Khaksar Tehrik entitled "Khaksar Tehrik Ki Jiddo Johad" (three volumes) and "Sir Syed, Jinnah, Mashriqi."

This clip provides excerpts from an interview with Sher Zaman where he talks about Allama Mashriqi and the Khaksar Tehrik. The interview is of great value, as it offers a firsthand account of key events in the pre-partition days.
