RAMADHAN = MILITARY TRAINING-------YOU DECIDE !

8:22 The worst of created beings in the Sight of God are the deaf and the dumb, those who do not use their intellect. [2:18, 16:76]

22:41 They are the ones who, if We grant them rule in the land, establish Salaat and give Zakaat. They enjoin virtue and forbid vice. And in their governance all affairs are decided according to God's decrees. [Establishing Salaat = Establishing the Divine System where God's Commands are closely followed. Giving Zakaat = Setting up the Just Economic Order in which wealth circulates freely to nourish every member of the society, and the basic needs of all individuals are taken care of]

Step 1 : Granted rule in the land.
Step 2 : Protect the land --why
Step 3 : To establish Salaat and Zakaat

[ 2 cents from this idiot ] granted rule in the land , you have to protect it from enemies. So you can establish Salaat and Zakaat , which is totally different than the traditional salaat and zakaat. Military training, get up in the morning have some food go out for training come back at late evening, break the fast. [ now you can go near your wife] , exception for travelers and sick. But you have to make up. This training is for number of days not months.) [end of 2 cents]

THE TRUTH ABOUT SOUM By Dr. Qamar Zaman English ...

"[Shahar also means to take out sword from its sheath]. Hence, the meaning of sword and war were derived from the word Shahar.
In brief Shahar means any event or saying that becomes well known or situation that involves bloodshed. Now let us see how
Quran uses the words derived from Shahar . In the verse 2:194 God Almighty says:

The prohibited month for the prohibited month and all things prohibited in retaliation. (Traditional translation) Can you draw any meanings from the above translation? Sure they named four prohibited months. But what does it mean the retaliation for them in prohibited months? The word Shahar used here is singular, not plural. In other words God is talking about Shahar , not Alshahar

How can we take retaliation for prohibited month Shahar with prohibited month Shahar? A month cannot be retaliated for another
month. But we sure can return a good deed with another good deed or strike back for an evil act committed against us with something
equal in magnitude.

Next part of the same verse 194 states:
If someone commits aggression against you, you can retaliate likewise. And stay on God’s Right Path (Taqwa(Keep in mind that God is with those who walk aright. Now it is clear that any aggression can be paid back likewise.
Hence, the retaliation for Shahar Alharam is Shahar Alharam which means Shahar Alharam is a situation or condition prohibited under normal circumstances. But if an enemy ignores the prohibition and commits aggression, then you can retaliate likewise.

RAMADHAN-The root of Ramadhan is made of three Arabic letters Raa, Meem, and Daad It too carries two meanings. [The first meaning is
intense heat.] The researchers believe that when Arabic calendar converted to Islamic calendar, this month was named Ramadhan
because it fell in the year when there was intense heat. Later, there was a switch from solar to lunar calendar. But they kept the same
names for months. Please consult the Lughat-Al-Quran by Rashid Naumani for verification. [The second meaning of Ramadhan is to sharpen the blade of a sword.]" page 33-34

"If Maryam (Mary) was following the same Sharia received by
our Prophet, then her fasting was exactly the same as ours. If her
fasting allowed her to eat and drink, then our fasting should allow us
to eat and drink as well. There should be no difference whatsoever. "

There are certain consequences in the Quran for violating norms. For example verse:

Shabbir Ahmed (Quran As It Explains Itself)
58:3 So, those of you who have made senseless declarations about their wives, estranged them, and then wish to go back on their utterance - they should free a human being from bondage before the couple may have intimate relations with each other. This you are admonished to perform. God is aware of all you do.3

Note 3
Freeing from bondage includes relieving someone from any kind of oppression and from a crushing burden of debt

58:4 However, he who cannot find a bonded person, let him observe daytime ‘Saum’for two consecutive months before the couple may intimately touch each other. And if he is unable to do that either, he should arrange the feeding of sixty needy ones. This is so that you may be true to your faith in God and His Messenger. These are the bounds ordained by God. For the deniers is a painful doom.4

Note 4
‘Saum’ 2:183. The State will help if the violator is old, sick or poor. 4:64

If Saum is military training, does this mean one who is guilty must go through it?

BTW here is another take on Saum (just sharing)
