Hazrat Ibrahim's wives

Post by Shoaib Ali »

Salaam -

Is it true that Hazrat Ibrahim (AS) had two wives? One wife bore Hazrat Ishaq (AS) and the other slave woman from Egypt bore Hazrat Ismael (AS).
Then hazrat Ibrahim (AS) let his second wife (slave) let go and wonder in the desert with baby Hazrat Ismael (AS).
Is this a true story or a fabrication of Jews to have superiority over Muslims?

Salam & regards

Nowhere Quran mentions two wives of Abraham(AS). These are the details of Taurah.

Abrahim and his family were not the first dwellers of Makkah as we see in his prayer, Abrahim(AS) has used the word Balad, means city or valley. And not the Ishmael was a baby when they built Ka’bah.

14:37 “Our Lord! I have settled some of my family in this barren, plant-less valley by your Sacred House. Our Lord! They are here to establish the Divine System. Give them the nobility of character so that the hearts of people incline toward them. Provide for them so that they may focus on their Mission and show gratitude by sharing Your heavenly and earthly blessings.”

2:127 As Abraham and Ishmael were implementing the foundations of the System, they prayed earnestly, “Our Lord! Accept from us our service. For, verily, You, and only You, are the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing.”

After the Quran has described The life of Abraham is an excellent example to follow, is there any doubt left that he left his family helpless???

60:4 Indeed there is an Excellent Pattern for you in Abraham, and his companions.

19:41 And call to mind, through this Book, of Abraham. Behold, he was a man of truth, a Prophet.

11:75 For, Abraham was clement, kind-hearted, ever turning to His Lord.

16:122 We gave him good reward in the world. And in the Hereafter he shall be among those who fully developed their personalities (actualised their potentials).
