The issue is whether complete covering of the head including hair is mandated in the Quran? We know that women are to cover their chests with a covering. In the old days, women of Pakistan used to cover their heads with a light covering (dupatta) but these days some cover the entire head with layers of sheets and make sure their hair is not visible. Where does the Quran say no hair must be visible when it comes to womens attire?

Exactly right. NO mandate to cover the head, hands, eyes, these are all mulla-god decrees, religious obligations, in defiance of Allah, His Qur'an and the true sunnah of the Messenger which was following only what Allah revealed to him.
This is the sad state of so-called muslims today, based upon one undeniable fact, that they have distanced themselves from the Qur'an and made forged hadith unashamedly attributed to the Messenger their religion.
