How Allama Iqbal Influenced An Atheist

Post by abdalaziz ariff / indiana »

Mohammad Elshinawy, Research Fellow at Yaqeen Institute for Islamic Research, elaborates a couplet written by Poet of the East, Allama Iqbal (May Allah be pleased with him). Mr. Elshinawy narrates that a very known professor in New York City who struggled faith for a long time and was an atheist, reverted to Islam. The professor says “I read a line from Muhammad Iqbal, and it just shut me down. And all my research was finished, and I said there’s no running from this.” He quoted Allama Iqbal’s couplet “SURE YOU CAN DENY GOD, BUT HOW DO YOU DENY MUHAMMAD (AS)?”

Speaker Mohammad Elshinawy explains that the poet wants to say, sure you can be immature and say “I’m not going believe in something I don’t see, but how do you deny someone who lived in the flesh here, who God communicate with. How do you deny the reality of Muhammad (as)?”

How can one deny a person who was born in a vicious environment, yet becomes beautiful, soft, delicate, bashful, merciful person, who was content when people couldn’t even be patient, and was merciful when people couldn’t even be just?

A person who was gentle with kittens, but was always on the front lines on battlefield. A valor on war front yet kind enough to be worried about a pigeon, who was scared by someone by taking her babies away?

The speaker went on to say ‘How do you explain the only person in human history that has ever removed racism from their society successfully. The only person in human history that has ever removed alcoholism effectively, that has suffocated the institution of slavery until it dwindled and people benefited from their freedoms and enjoyed them. How do you explain that he becomes the most influential figure in human history?

Atheists are very intelligent people and always have a scientist nature. They don't accept any thing blind unless it is proven.

Religion is a different business, its all blind , only past and future. past stories and future next world scares. There is no present in any religion about businesses, education, democracy, banking, currency or property management, because its all too complex for religion to handle it. There fore atheists are not convinced they just go quiet.

Indian Bollywood made a good movie titled "' OMG". ( Oh My God ), when a businessman suffers a loss due natural calamity, he demanded God to payback but couldn't. he filed a legal claim in court and all so called agents of religions were called to pay as agents since they always collect donations and zakat etc. An interesting movie.

Btw, most young generation of today and future is atheist in the literal sense. Mostly because agents of God can only talk about thousands years past saints and million years ahead future of hell or heaven.
