India helping Taliban

US itself is the biggest danger to Pakistan.

"In a parallel development, a new consensus appears to be emerging, that can be called the "Zaid Hamid Consensus" that charts out a broad policy of independence from the US and an Islamic state in the philosophical lineage of Allama Iqbal rather than a Taliban/Salafi style interpretation. This consensus, if it can gain critical mass, could prove to be an antidote to both foreign designs against the country as well as the internal threat of the Salafists and terrorists. The Americans are also in the game. The American game plan is represented by a rehash of the "Sunni Awakening" strategy in Iraq under the brand name of "Sunni Tahreek" a so-called Deobandi outfit. This is perhaps the biggest danger for Pakistan, as it will in the long-term move the battle from far flung and remote areas to the city centers of the country in a rehash of Iraq post US conquest, with the violence, militias and terror that it accompanied. With the political government's cooperation and US funding, this could easily turn very nasty".

America Confusing Swat

Swat peace deal is good for Pakistan; has nothing to do with America & is none of Europe’s business.

"Swat is exactly what the demonization of Afghan Taliban and the creation of a fake ‘Pakistani Taliban’ is all about. Pakistan has supported Afghan Taliban, so create these monsters inside Pakistan, call them ‘Taliban’, make them kill ordinary Pakistanis mercilessly, and when anger builds up, point the finger at Pakistani military. What the Pakistani media is not noticing is how that everything that the so-called Pakistani Taliban does ends up supporting the U.S. government and military’s argument for boosting troops in Afghanistan and advocating U.S. military intervention in Pakistan. Swat peace deal is good for Pakistan; has nothing to do with America, is none of Europe’s business. There is no way to eliminate the insurgency in Afghanistan without political reconciliation inside Afghanistan itself. Drone attacks and peace deals in Pakistan are irrelevant".

Pak orders military to 'eliminate' Swat militants

We are proud of our Armed forces who are wiping off the Zionist, US and Indian filth from Pak Sar Zameen's Swat Valley!

"Pak sent fresh troops to the volatile Swat valley Friday after ordering the army to "eliminate" extremists battling government forces for control of the key northwest district. Authorities slapped an indefinite curfew on a swathe of land to facilitate the deployment of troops, a senior military official said. The move came after attack helicopters, artillery and warplanes pounded suspected Taliban hideouts Thursday in the deadliest fighting since the government reached a February peace agreement with hardliners. In a televised address, Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani called for unity against extremists he said were threatening the nation's sovereignty and who had violated the deal".

Pakistan launches full-scale military assault on Taliban

Long Live Pakistan, Long Live Pakistani Defense forces

"Pakistan declared war on its homegrown Islamic extremists Thursday in a dramatic move that could trigger a wider conflagration.

Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani, in a late-night televised address to the nation, said Pakistan would launch a full-scale offensive against Pakistani Taliban guerrillas who've seized control of the vast Swat valley, which is about 100 miles north of the capital".

Rehman Malik presents ‘proof of Indian hand in unrest’

"At a closed-door Senate session on Thursday, Interior Adviser Rehman Malik presented a bleak picture of the security situation in the country and showed what he called evidence of the involvement of India, Afghanistan and Russia in terrorist activities. It is the first time Pakistan has blamed these countries and cited evidences which, it is believed, will be shared with the international community, particularly the United States, which has expressed concern over growing militancy in the country. Following a harsh statement by Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, US special envoy Richard Holbrooke telephoned President Asif Ali Zardari on Thursday and conveyed a similar message."

Indian RAW funded Swat terrorists: $650 million to destabilize Pakistan

"India intelligence: “‘the aim of RAW is to keep internal disturbances flaring up and the ISI preoccupied so that Pakistan can lend no worthwhile resistance to Indian designs in the region.”

64 militants die as army pounds Taliban

Army continues to gain control over the valley as Taliban suffer damage and are gradually eliminated.

"President Asif Ali Zardari has assured US President Barack Obama of Islamabad's commitment to defeating al-Qaeda and its allies. A February pact intended to halt Taliban violence in Swat has collapsed and on Wednesday the army launched assaults in the outskirts of the region's main town of Mingora. "We can't stay here when bombs are falling all around," said Mohammad Hayat Khan, as he watched his family of 14 board a truck".

Pak troops bomb Taliban; Govt says no more dialogue

"Unleashing an all-out war on the Taliban, Pakistani fighter jets on Thursday pounded militant positions in the restive tribal belt, where a son of a pro-Taliban cleric who negotiated a controversial peace deal in Swat was killed in shelling by troops."

Sikh-Muslim relations intact

Jagmohan Singh

LAHORE/NEW DELHI: British award-winning journalist Yvvone Ridley, who under captivity of the Taliban converted to Islam, tells us that oppression by the Taliban is not about Islam but about tradition and customs. The tyranny against women has been going on for decades.

Notwithstanding the tyranny by many Mughal emperors, it is the strong belief of the Sikhs that Sikhism and Islam are religiously close to each other in the worship of the One Almighty and that the historical animosity perceived to be between Sikhs and Muslims was actually a revolt against the tyranny of the Mughal empire.

Sikhs worldwide are disturbed. For long, Pakistan has been perceived as a friend of the Sikhs and do not understand as to why suddenly it has turned foe. Many do not go beyond the surface to understand that the tyranny of the Taliban is directed not only against the minorities –Sikhs, Christians and Hindus, but also Muslims who do not toe their line.

More than 300 Sikhs from Buner district of the Orakzai Agency area are now taking shelter in Gurdwara Panja Sahib in the Hasanabdal town of Panjab district. It is further agonizing to note that the number of Sikhs is increasing by the hour. Most of the victims from Orakzai Agency are from Peer Baba, Daggar, Dewana Baba, Jhangi, Gogga, Sawari, Changli and Ghourgohsti areas. During the course of his abduction for recovery of Jazia tax, Kalyan Singh, who is the head of a family of 24 members, was brutally tortured for 10 days by the Taliban militias.

According to latest reports, the Shrines Evacuee Trust Property Board has made elaborate arrangements to assist the families who for fear of the Taliban have left their home and hearth and have made Gurdwara Panjab Sahib, their refugee home.

Human rights body, Voices for Freedom in its communiqué to Asma Jahangir of the Human Rights Commission for Pakistan has called for immediate intervention saying, “The Jazia tax on the Sikhs is reminiscent of the destruction of the Bamiyan Buddhas in Afghanistan by the Taliban in the early part of the last century. In that case, it was a violation of the right to manifest one’s religion through one’s heritage. In the case of the Jazia tax on Sikhs, the very right for Sikhs to exist has been egregiously violated by the Taliban.”

Dal Khalsa too has sent a plea to the Pakistan embassy in New Delhi seeking immediate assistance and support to the beleagured Sikhs from the FATA regions.

Fighting with bare hands against a set of people who know no logic, the cry of a Sikh shopkeeper quoted in a section of the media tells all, "I have four children, all of them are with me. My husband has a shop. We can’t say anything against the Taliban but the truth is that they are brutal. I think the militants are not against any specific religion. They are fighting against humanity. No peaceful citizen can be their friend." No doubt, It is time for the Pakistangovernment to ensure that the numbers do not swell.

Citing history, Voices for Freedom says, “It is also historically evident that Emperor Mohammad Jalluludin Akbar had abolished Jazia during his reign. Though the Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb had reinforced the tax, history has witnessed that Sikhs accepted to die than to embrace another religion through force.”

Agitating Sikhs in India and the rest of the world are clear that the Islam of Prophet Mohammad is against tyranny, oppression and injustice. The tyranny of the Taliban can be that of Emperor Aurangzeb or even Frakhshiyar, who had ordered the destruction of Sikh home and hearth. During those times too Sikhs fled, chose martyrdom, but did not accept racial discrimination and subjugation.

Pakistan may have dismissed the verbal demarche of the government of India on grounds of non-interference in the affairs of Pakistan, but it has to follow up on the many good will measures that it has taken for the Sikh community that descends on Pakistan from across the globe for a variety of religious anniversary celebrations every year.

Muslims clerics and scholars have been unequivocal. Maulana Abdul Hameed Nomani, Secretary of Jamiat Ulama-e Hind said, "Levying jaziya on Pakistani Sikhs is absurd as they have not been a party in any war and have lived in the land for as long as the Taliban elements themselves. In the light of Islam, the action is wrong; we do not know, which Shariah they are trying to impose in the tribal regions.

World Sikh News columnist, Nanak Singh Nishter, while talking about Sikh-Muslim relations has the last word, “The multi-religious nature of Guru Granth Sahib prevents the Sikhs from any communal hatred and ill feelings in the name of religion. The brutalities of the Mughal emperors for about two centuries, leading to the near-extinction of the community could not make the Sikhs, anti-Muslim. Similarly, the countrywide genocide and plundering of the Sikhs in the eighties of the twentieth century by the Hindu rulers and Hindu masses could not make them, anti-Hindu.”

WASHINGTON, D.C.—There have been reports about Indian involvement in BLA and other nefarious crooks of the garden variety. Now there is solid proof and Indian RAW agents have been caught red handed.

India intelligence: “‘the aim of RAW is to keep internal disturbances flaring up and the ISI preoccupied so that Pakistan can lend no worthwhile resistance to Indian designs in the region.”

We HAVE discussed the Indian involvement in terror activities in Pakistan.

LAHORE: The three arrested members of a militants’ gang especially deputed by Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan have disclosed that RAW has been funding suicide bomb attacks in Pakistan and that the Indian agency has funnelled Rs 680 million through its links with the Afghan secret agency.

The gang of three persons have brazenly admitted that they belong to the group of persons who had been deputed to ‘destabilise democratic Pakistan’ with the sole purpose of ‘enforcement of Shariah’ in the country.

Operators of an intelligence agency, working beyond the call of their duty, came into contact with a source ready for a tip-off against a reward and led to the arrest of Khurram Ishtiaq, Ghulam Mustafa and Shamim. The persons had been working under Qari Hussain, second-in-command to Baitullah Mehsud. All the three had been arrested on Aug 13 this year while they were on the prowl for a target. The militants had been arrested ‘red-handed’ as they possessed complete suicide kits, including two jackets and 70kg of explosives and detonators.

The accused were hardened militants and took a lot of time to break in and make confessions. They revealed that Qari Hussain had been working to help three adjutants—Farukh Usman alias Shahjee, Tayyab alias Baba; Ustad, the trainer to destabilise democratic government.

Qari Hussain, the leader, prepares suicide bombers and dispatches them throughout Pakistan. He also manages funds for the splinter groups from RAW which works in collusion with the Afghan intelligence agency RAM.

Farukh Usman works as Qari’s deputy and runs the sub-setup to carry out attacks in Lahore in particular and Punjab in general. He was the mastermind of suicide attacks on FIA building, Naval War College, Model Town, Lahore High Court and PAF bus in Sargodha, the investigation has revealed.

Tayyab alias Baba mainly deals with Rawalpindi/Islamabad. He was the man behind blasts at Aabpara Market and Marriott Hotel. The third person known only as Ustad is an expert of making bombs. He is said to be of Indian origin and he ‘works with a vengeance’. He is the man who leads suicide bombers to the marked site of the blast.

The investigation revealed that there are two sub-teams: three persons of one team work under Ustad. Two of the arrested persons—Shahmim Alam alias Sohail alias Kashif alias Uncle and Khurram Ishtiaq alias Ibrahim—have been active members of the TTP and worked under direct guidance of Ustad.

Shamim was the facilitator. His task was to distribute funds to suicide bombers at the behest of Qari Hussain and Tayyab@Baba. Being educated and a well-dressed civilian-look-alike, he was assigned another important job of providing ‘reconnaissance of the target area’.

He possesses the canny ability of mixing up with urbanites. Khurram Ishtiaq alias Ibrahim is a well-trained militant. His job is to harbour suicide bombers at a secret venue till they are led to the area of operation to carry out the job. The third person of this setup, Sajid, is a resident of Ali Khel, Waziristan. It is not certain whether his services were ‘utilized’ or made his escape good.

Another team which works under Farrukh Usman alias Shahjee includes Bablu, Rehan, Ghulam Mustafa alias Asif (the third arrested person) and Abdul Rahim. Bablu’s assignment is to provide explosives at the nick of time when the suicide bombers have been finally prepared to perform the ‘sacred feat’.

Ghulam Mustafa and Abdul Rahim, a diehard Jehadi serve as guards and take care that none of perpetrators shows his back and become a deserter. In that case, there is only one choice left and that too leads one to heavens.

Former boss of the intelligence agency, Tariq Lodhi, had recommended a reward and commendation for the team who apprehended the culprits but they say their new boss Shoaib Suddle turned it down on the grounds that agency operators just did their job and no reward should be given for performing duty.

The team members disclosed that they had arrested two prime targets during Pervaiz Musharraf regime and they both had a head money of $5 million each but the reward money was shared by the two premier agencies instead passing it on to the individuals who had arrested them on their own initiative.

The team has long been working on the intelligence of militants but they got the culprits apprehended through a middleman who is ready to divulge more but “only if he is rewarded for the catch.”

The team claims that it could reach out to Qari Hussain and his gang and thus eliminate the danger of suicide blasts in Pakistan by 90 percent. Talking to The News on the condition of not divulging their names, they said, “We neither have free hand nor enough resources to break the hornet’s nest.” (Exceprt from The News–Submitted by Irtiza Ali)
