Intercession?

Sayyiduna Abu Dardah ( radi Allahu anhu ) reported:
the Holy Prophet (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) said,
"Whoever recites darood on me in the morning ten times and in the evening ten times, for him shall be my intercession on the day of Qiyamah."

Shafa'ah means standing beside someone as a witness bearing him out as being truthful.
It does not mean intercession.
