4 religious ritualistic events fall today:
1. Palm Sunday, also called Passion Sunday, in the Christian tradition, the first day of Holy Week and the Sunday before Easter, commemorating Jesus Christ's triumphal entry into Jerusalem.
2. Passover: Passover commemorates the Biblical story of Exodus — where God freed the Israelites from slavery in Egypt. The celebration of Passover is prescribed in the book of Exodus in the Old Testament (in Judaism, the first five books of Moses are called the Torah).
3. Holi: - much like many other Hindu festivals Holi celebrates the victory of good over evil. ... It begins on the night of Holika Dahan — a day prior to Holi — wherein the evil king Hiranyakashipu's sister Holika was charred to death when she had sat with the young Prahlad on a pyre .
4. Shab e Barat: Barat or Brat is regarded as a night when an individual's fortune decides for the coming year and when Allah may forgive sinners. In many regions, this is also a night when prayers are offered to Allah to forgive one's deceased ancestors. Additionally, Twelver Shia Muslims commemorate the birthday of Muhammad al-Mahdi on this date. Salafi adherents oppose the recognition of Mid-Sha'ban as exceptional for prayer
