A recent study shows that 99% of the masks people wear are not only useless for stopping coronavirus...


They may actually be the reason they get it in the first place.


Most masks have huge GAPS that make them useless for filtering your air.


Even worse...

PROS:

1. Wearing of the mask will contain the spread of the virus.

2. Type N95 mask creates a barrier preventing respiratory droplet from travelling in the air. When someone coughs, sneezes, or talks mask to reduce the spray of the droplet when worn over the nose and mouth. When worn properly, only 5% of particles 0.1 microns in size can penetrate these masks.

3. 3M medical respirators protect the wearer from getting sick and protect the patient from the wearer’s germs. However, 'No respirator will eliminate exposure to the virus.'

4. Approximately 40% to 45% of people with COVID-19 are asymptomatic and they can transmit the virus to others for an extended period, possibly longer than the typical 14 days – those people are unaware they have the disease. Without wearing a mask, they may unknowingly spread it to others, by talking!

5. When others wear a mask, they help protect you. When you wear a mask, you help protect others.

6. Wearing a mask and being able to go outside is a better choice than to stay inside until the pandemic is over.


CONS:


1. Can restrict airflow, cause skin irritation, be uncomfortable, cause glasses to fog and many people end up touching their face absentmindedly because viruses accumulate on the surface of the masks.

2. Coronavirus can remain infectious on soft surfaces like masks for many hours, so the wearer must be very careful when removing the mask: Touching an infected portion of the mask could transmit the virus.

3. It is important to use both disposable and reusable masks properly. If a virus or other health-threatening microorganism is left on a disposable mask, touched, and then hands are not washed, an infection may occur.

4. Wash the washable kind at the end of the day or after extended use. (6-8 hours)

5. How about blue surgical masks? They should be thrown away when it is visibly soiled or damaged.

Filtering air is NOT THE JOB OF FACE MASKS!


Face masks help contain respiratory droplets that can transmit SARS-CoV-2, the coronavirus that causes COVID-19, from people who do not know they have the virus.


Another example of a non-entity trying to be clever without the necessary intellect to know fact from fiction.


Mr Stupid and 'Karen' speak a lot of nonsense which is easily proven false but they do not care or move on to another joke idea to show how brilliant they are.


If we can persuade them that masks that stop air 100% from entering the body must be worn, we may have some peace and listen to common sense ideas.

Until then, God help us if they are ever put in charge of something important.

The original post had a lie that masks do not work because they do not stop air, when it is droplets with covid that are stopped or reduced 90% so they do help.


What tyranny has to do with this I have no idea and not at all relevant to the wearing of masks.


You are in the UK, come to Alum Rock, Birmingham and I will take you the homes of those who have died from covid and you can look their grieving relatives in the eyes and tell them this is all a joke.


Until then, I await my RNA protein induced, pfizer covid vaccine which has just been approved by UK MHRA, medicines regulator.
